The first trailer for the star-studded big screen adaptation of The Goldfinch is here and you won’t want to miss it!

In Donna Tartt’s Pulitzer Prize winning novel, readers are introduced to Theodore Decker— a young man who winds up surviving a terrorist bombing at an art museum. Theodore may have survived unscathed, but his mother however isn’t so lucky.

In the first trailer for the upcoming big screen adaptation of The Goldfinch, we see that fated date come to life, narrated by Baby Driver star Ansel Elgort, who plays an older version of the character.

“In Amsterdam I dreamt I saw my mother again,” confesses Elgort’s Theodore as he trailer plunges into a flashback. “Same beautiful pale blue eyes. When I lost her, I lost sight of any landmark that might have led me some place happier.”

Elgort isn’t the only big name star who gets some screen time in our first look at the forthcoming adaptation.

The film boasts a star-studded cast which includes the likes of Nicole Kidman (Big Little Lies), Sarah Paulson (American Horror Story), Jeffrey Wright (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1), and Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard, all of whom are peppered throughout the first trailer for the film.
