After a long hiatus, Fringe finally returned with its premiere episode of season 5, “Transilience Thought Unifier Model-11”! Share your thoughts here.

In season 4, we were taken to the year 2036, in which Olivia and Peter’s daughter Etta (played by Georgina Haig), a Fringe agent, sought to oppose the rule of the Observers while also searching for her parents. We soon learned that Peter, Walter, Astrid and William Bell were all caught in amber, and we assumed that Olivia would be too although she was not with them at the time.

In the premiere episode of what is Fringe‘s final, 13-episode season, we once again found ourselves 22 years from the present day, where Etta, Peter, Walter and Astrid continued their search for Olivia as a little bit more was revealed about how the characters ended up ambering themselves, having been separated from Etta and trying to escape the Observers to eventually save the world.

What did you think about this first episode, which sadly serves as the beginning of the end?! We’d love to hear your thoughts, both here and over in the Hypable forums!

Fringe will return next Friday with its second episode of the season, entitled “In Absentia.”
