Freeform’s upcoming The Fosters spinoff finally has an official title!

According to Deadline, the upcoming spinoff series will officially be called Good Trouble.

In addition to announcing the title of the series, Freeform also revealed that Crazy Rich Asians director John M. Chu would be helming and executive producing the first episode of the new series.

Fans of The Fosters might recall that we learned about the upcoming spinoff this past January.

Callie (Maia Mitchell) and Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) will be back for the spinoff which will find both girls living in Los Angeles and transitioning into the next phase in their life.

There’s also a lot to be said for the name of the series, which is very symbolic of what we’ll be seeing Callie and Mariana get up to in Los Angeles according to series creators and showrunners Joanna Johnson, Peter Paige and Bradley Bredeweg.

In a statement released by the showrunners, they revealed that the series would pay homage to the fact that we’re living in a time where “we’re seeing millennials in this country doing extraordinary things.”

“Making noise, taking action, stirring up good trouble as they grow, strive and struggle to make the mess of their early 20s into the message,” said the showrunners. “As Callie and Mariana venture to Los Angeles to start their adult lives and embark on their separate but intertwined journeys to change the world, they’re going to have all the ‘good trouble’ they can handle.”

Production on Good Trouble is slated to begin later this summer.

Meanwhile, Freeform’s long-standing drama, The Fosters will air its series finale in just two week’s time.
