In an effort to address the craziness of the show, the people behind The Following created a spoof of their own show in which Kevin Bacon has a little trouble separating work and reality.
If you didn’t watch last night’s double feature of The Following season 3, episodes 4 and 5, you really should do that first. Or at least check out our recap. There were more twists and turns in those two hours than most shows hit in a single season.
Shortly after the episode aired last night, the creative minds behind The Following released a video depicting Kevin Bacon having a little bit of trouble keeping Ryan Hardy and his work life from creeping into his reality. It features a couple of special guests, Michael C. Hall (better known as the serial killer Dexter from the Showtime series), Dean Winters (also known for the Agent Mayhem commercials and his appearances on Brooklyn Nine-Nine as the Vulture), and Bacon’s wife, Kyra Sedgwick. The video is a thoroughly entertaining way to poke a little fun at the intense nature of The Following‘s central premise.
We also loved seeing a little more of Joe Carroll, as we hadn’t seen him in The Following season 3 until last night’s final turn. We don’t know what plans the show has for his character (he is sitting on death row at the moment), but we will always enjoy seeing James Purefoy at work.
