In a new promotional video, The Flash star Tom Cavanagh discusses the S.T.A.R. Labs team that looks after Barry Allen.

Cavanagh plays Harrison Wells, “a rock star in the world of physics” and “the mind and money behind Central City’s S.T.A.R. Labs Particle Accelerator,” which malfunctioned and caused a large explosion at the end of Arrow season 2, episode 9, “Three Ghosts.” Though the explosion makes Harrsion a pariah, he “charts his path to redemption” after discovering the malfunction “had the unintended consequence of creating the world’s fastest man.”

In the video below, which also features new footage of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), Cavanagh describes his team.

We met both Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) in Arrow season 2, episode 19, “The Man Under the Hood,” after Slade attacked them. Felicity knew them through visiting the comatose Barry after he was moved to S.T.A.R. Labs. They also created the Mirakuru cure Team Arrow uses to defeat Slade and his Mirakuru army in the season finale.

“The team members of S.T.A.R. Labs are as different as they are talented,” Cavanagh previews. While both Caitlin and Cisco are “extremely competent,” Caitlin is “a little more rigid and determined” while Cisco is “a little more exuberant and spontaneous.”

Cavanagh adds, “Together we form a good team and have to … actually bond in solidarity because a lot of what was working for us gets taken away from us drastically, tragically. And we have to build upon that to make a brighter future.”
