The Flash season 2 will introduce Henry Hewitt, aka Tokamak, a Firestorm villain.

Demore Barnes will play Henry, who The CW describes as “a charming, but cocky scientist who was affected by the same Particle Accelerator explosion that created the Flash. When Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) recruits him to join the team at S.T.A.R. Labs, Hewitt jumps at the opportunity to fulfill his destiny as a powerful meta-human.”

In the DC comics, Henry Hewitt is the corrupt CEO of an energy company. He attempted to recreate the nuclear accident that created Firestorm, first experimenting on the daughter of a senator, creating Firehawk, before conducting the explosion on himself. In doing so, he became Tokamak, the Living Human Reactor and one of Firestorm’s rogues.

Barnes’ credits include 12 Monkeys, Hemlock Grove and Supernatural.

Barnes joins a cast for The Flash season 2 that includes Teddy Sears (Jay Garrick), Shantel VanSanten (Patty Spivot), Keiynan Lonsdale (Wally West), Michael Ironside (Lewis Snart), and Adam Copeland (Atom Smasher).

Season 2 is shaping up to be intense, as we learned at Comic-Con that it would pick up a few months after the wormhole appeared over Central City in the season 1 finale.

“We deal with the fallout of the cataclysm that happened at the end of the year. As we used the particle accelerator to introduce the metahuman, we’ll be introducing characters from Earth 2 on the show,” said executive producer Greg Berlanti.

Furthermore, season 2’s Big Bad will be Zoom, who is “going to be faster than Reverse Flash, faster than the Flash.” According to EP Andrew Kreisberg, Zoom will be “terrifying and scary and fast, and it’s going to be all kinds of cool.”

The Flash season 2 premieres Tuesday, October 6 at 8:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
