The Flash has cast a Spartacus alum as the new Weather Wizard.
Liam McIntyre will join the cast of The Flash as Mark Mardon, the brother of the pilot’s Weather Wizard, Clyde Mardon.
Mark, who was presumed dead in the series premiere, comes to Central City in episodes 15 and 16 in search of his brother’s killer — Joe West, who shot Clyde after his confrontation with Barry in his first run as the Flash. And, like Clyde, Mark also has weather powers.
Mark is the Weather Wizard of the DC Comics, first appearing in 1960’s Flash #110, and a member of the Flash’s rogues gallery. When his brother was the one displaying the weather powers in the pilot, many fans expected to see Mark at some point.
McIntyre is the latest in a string of Spartacus alums to appear in the shared world of The Flash and Arrow; Manu Bennett (Slade Wilson), Katrina Law (Nyssa al Ghul), Cynthia Addai-Robinson (Amanda Waller), and Nick Tarabay (Digger Harkness) have all been on Arrow.

In this promo, we get a look at Captain Cold’s (Wentworth Miller) return as well as the debuts of Heatwave (Dominic Purcell) and Pied Piper (Andy Mientus), the latter of which has come up with his own nickname — to Cisco’s chagrin.
The Flash returns with new episodes on Tuesday, January 20 at 8:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
