Michael Ironside will play the father of rogues Leonard and Lisa Snart in The Flash season 2.

Ironside has been cast as Lewis Snart, the estranged father of two of the Flash’s main rogues.

Lewis is described as a “cold-blooded, ruthless career criminal. Recently released from prison, he returns to Central City with a plan that will endanger both of his children.”

He will appear in The Flash season 2, episode 3, “Family of Rogues,” alongside Wentworth Miller (Leonard Snart/Captain Cold) and Peyton List (Lisa Snart/Golder Glider).

Ironside’s numerous credits include Top Gun, Total Recall and Terminator Salvation. He also played Lois Lane’s father in Smallville. He has also voiced numerous comic book characters, including Darkseid in Superman: The Animated Series and Justice League

In the DC comics, the Snarts’ father was an abusive, drunken ex-cop. Leonard and Lisa spent a lot of time with their grandfather, who drove an ice truck. When their grandfather died, they learned to have cold hearts. Leonard eventually turned to a life of crime.
