Good news for The Flash fans, Rick Famuyiwa has been chosen to direct the big screen adaptation starring Ezra Miller!

Back in May it was revealed that the original director signed on for The Flash, Seth Grahame-Smith, had decided to drop out of the project. It was stated at the time that he left the film because of creative differences which had some fans worried.

Luckily, it hasn’t taken Warner Bros. that long to find a replacement. Deadline reports that WB has chosen Rick Famuyiwa as the new director for The Flash. Famuyiwa’s career is just starting to take off with his recent Sundance film Dope.

It looks like WB believes that Famuyiwa will share their vision for The Flash, “the feeling internally was that Famuyiwa provided a vision that would resonate with young viewers and that vision was very compatible with the script that the studio is moving toward the start gate with.”

The script was originally written by Seth Grahame-Smith so it’s unclear if any changes will be made there. If WB wants to keep the original March 16, 2018 premiere date for the film they’re going to have to move quickly! We’re definitely intrigued by this decision and look forward to seeing the vision that Famuyiwa has for the film.

What do you think of WB’s decision to add Rick Famuyiwa as the director for ‘The Flash’?
