Casting continues for The Flash with the addition of General Wade Eiling.

Sleepy Hollow alum Clancy Brown will play The General, reports THR. He will first appear in the fifth episode, and the role will be recurring.

In The Flash, Eiling heads a black ops army team tasked with pursuing Bette Sans Souci, aka Plastique (Kelly Frye), with the goal of using her as a human weapon.

(Bette is a bomb disposal expert in Iraq who gains the ability to turn any object she touches into an explosive device following the S.T.A.R. Labs particle accelerator malfunction. While on the run from The General, she finds an ally in the Flash.)

Eiling is described as “a tall and imposing man” with “a face carved from years of duty.” He is “fanatically intent on protecting American interests around the world.” Interestingly, he also “may have ties to a central Flash character.”

In the DC comics, Eiling first appeared in the Captain Atom series but was perhaps most prominent in the JLA series. He has also appeared in the animated series Justice League Unlimited and Young Justice.

Brown is no stranger to the comic book world, as he voiced (among many voice roles) Lex Luthor in the animated Superman, Justice League, and The Batman series.

Brown joins an expanding cast headlined by Grant Gustin (Barry Allen), Jesse L. Martin (Joe West), Candice Patton (Iris West), Tom Cavanagh (Harrison Wells), Danielle Panabaker (Caitlin Snow), Carlos Valdes (Cisco Ramon), Rick Cosnett (Eddie Thawne), and John Wesley Shipp (Henry Allen).

Recent casting for The Flash also includes Frye, Wentworth Miller (Leonard Snart), and Robbie Amell (Ronnie Raymond).

The Flash premieres Tuesday, October 7 at 8:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
