The upcoming Flash series has cast another star from the original series.

Amanda Pays will reprise her role from the original Flash series as Dr. Tina McGee in the upcoming CW drama.

Pays starred opposite John Wesley Shipp in the 1990 CBS Flash series, when Shipp played Barry Allen. Shipp will play Barry’s father, Henry, in the new series.

In the original series, Dr. McGee was an expert geneticist as well as Barry’s main ally and love interest. This time, she’ll be an employee of a rival tech company to S.T.A.R. Labs — the company whose particle accelerator malfunction gave Barry — and the other metahumans — his powers in the first place.

“When we decided to bring Tina onto our version of The Flash, who better to get than the amazing actress who originated the part?” said executive producer Andrew Kreisberg. “Like with John Wesley Shipp, we are so proud and excited to have another actor from the original series join us on our new adventures for Barry Allen.”

Pays’ most recent credits include appearances on Psych in 2008 and Nip/Tuck in 2006.

Pays joins a growing Flash cast that includes recent additions Dominic Purcell (Heatwave), Greg Finley (Girder), Clancy Brown (General Wade Eiling), Kelly Frye (Plastique), Wentworth Miller (Captain Cold), and Robbie Amell (Ronnie Raymond).

The Flash stars Grant Gustin (Barry Allen), Jesse L. Martin (Joe West), Candice Patton (Iris West), Tom Cavanagh (Harrison Wells), Danielle Panabaker (Caitlin Snow), Carlos Valdes (Cisco Ramon), Rick Cosnett (Eddie Thawne), and John Wesley Shipp (Henry Allen).

The Flash premieres Tuesday, October 7 at 8:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
