The Flash season 5 premieres on Tuesday, Oct. 9, with “Nora.” We have five hints to whet your appetite for the episode.

The synopsis for The Flash 5×01 “Nora” reads:

GETTING RID OF EXCESS — After an unexpected guest from the future, Nora West-Allen (Jessica Parker Kennedy), appears at their home, Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris (Candice Patton,) must figure out how to get her back to the future without disrupting the timeline–even more than she already has. Team Flash must work together to send Nora back, while simultaneously fighting off another villainous meta.

We have five hints to get you excited for the season premiere.

Barry and Iris react quite differently to having Nora around

Understandably, Barry and Iris are both shocked to learn that the young woman they kept seeing around Central City is actually Nora West-Allen — their daughter from the future. However, they react quite differently to having their adult daughter among them.

Iris, for her part, wants to get the chance to connect with her daughter. After all, it’s her daughter! But for all the time travel Barry has done in his life, he is adamant about getting Nora back to her time ASAP to preserve the timeline.

Or so he tells everyone.

Nora reacts quite differently to her parents

Though Iris is excited to get to know her daughter, Nora is less than enthused to spend time with her mother. She’s not rude, but she’s definitely cool toward Iris. On the other hand, she can’t get enough time with Barry. She knows everything about his exploits and wants to join in on stopping the week’s meta.

Barry, for his part, registers that something is off about the imbalance in the way Nora is reacting to her parents and confronts her about it.

Ralph is catching up on past Team Flash exploits

Now that he’s on Team Flash full-time, Ralph has some catching up to do on what happened previously with Team Flash. This results in some humorous exchanges as Ralph tries to make sense of some things. For instance, this exchange:

Caitlin: “How’s your investigation going?”

Ralph: “It just doesn’t make sense. If Eddie wanted to erase Thawne from existence, why didn’t he have a vasectomy?”

Same, Ralph. Same.

Time travel and the multiverse are also surprising new discoveries for the erstwhile private eye, leading to some humorous exchanges.

Nora keeps hinting about the future

“Spoiler alert!” Cisco yells at one point when Nora drops an intriguing tidbit about future King Shark.

Barry reminds Nora that speedsters need to be responsible (he knows from personal experience what happens when they’re not), but Nora can’t help herself as she reveals some things about the future. (Coffee is $43 in the future!)

Who knows how many of these will actually come to pass, though, since Nora visiting the past is altering some aspects of the timeline.

There is a 3 speedster team-up

It takes the combined efforts of the three speedsters to take on the week’s meta in the episode’s climax. Seeing Flash, Kid Flash and XS in the field at the same time, complete with different color lightning, is pretty dang cool — as is the way they work together to save the city.

But you’ll just have to wait and see what that looks like..

Bonus: There is a ‘Batman Beyond’ reference that runs through the episode

Batman Beyond is probably my favorite DC series, so this reference earned my undying love. It makes sense, too, as Nora comes from around the time Terry would be patrolling Neo Gotham. I just never expected to get even a nod to that property.

(Now I just need my live action Batman Beyond show. Come on, guys!)

The Flash season 5 premieres Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 8:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
