After half a season of hearing about Earth-2, The Flash season 2, episode 13, “Welcome to Earth-2,” takes place on the alternate Earth.

After his confession that he stole some of Barry’s speed and gave it to Zoom, Harrison Wells was prepared to return to Earth-2 on his own, likely resulting in his own death and the death of his daughter. However, he was surprised to learn he won’t be going home alone: Barry and Cisco will be joining him.

However, things will naturally go awry.

In this episode, “Barry, Cisco, and Harry go over to Earth-2 with a definitive plan that goes awry and they are left having to improvise. They find themselves in a completely different scenario than they anticipated – and have a race for their life to get back,” The Flash executive producer Todd Helbing tells IGN.

“Welcome to Earth-2” will introduce the Earth-2 versions of many of our characters, including Caitlin Snow and Ronnie Raymond (who died stopping the singularity over Central City at the end of season 1). The Earth-1 heroes, however, have villainous alter egos: Killer Frost and Deathstorm respectively.

Killer Frost is “completely different” than her Earth-1 counterpart, Danielle Panabaker tells EW. “Caitlin comes from a really good, well-intentioned place, and Killer Frost does not. She just wants to hurt people and steal from them.”

Of the dynamic between Killer Frost and Deathstorm, Panabaker calls it “very Bonnie and Clyde.” She adds, “There’s a lot of passion between those two characters. It’s different than the relationship between Earth-1 Caitlin and Ronnie in that it’s very passionate, very hot and heavy. It’s fun.”

What other surprises can we expect from Earth-2 versions of these characters? Well, Jesse L. Martin will get to put his Broadway pipes to use, as Joe is a singer on the alternate Earth.

“Our cast, they’re all extremely talented. Every time you see them do stuff like this, it just blows our mind. Jesse, it just felt the most organic, with the doppelganger aspect… It just felt the best way to introduce that ability that he has,” Helbing says.

As for Barry and Iris, well, we’ll let the photos speak for themselves:
