The first trailer for Ocean’s 8 is here, and it looks fantastic!
Until now, we haven’t known much about this all-female Ocean’s film, apart from the fact that it’s about an epic jewelry heist at New York City’s annual Met Gala. However, now that we finally have a trailer, we can all get a better look at Sandra Bullock as Debbie Ocean, Danny Ocean’s sister, and get to know her team.
It is so awesome to get to see these women working together. Their chemistry as a group leaps off the screen, and just like previous Ocean’s films, this team seems like they’ll be so much fun to watch in action.
Of course, as was pointed out when the teaser dropped yesterday, there is a particularly troubling image of Debbie having a drink outside of a grave for Danny Ocean. But is Danny actually dead, or is this another twist?
After all, Debbie’s jewelry heist isn’t focused on the Met in general, but she has her eye on one specific necklace valued at $150 million dollars. James Cordon’s character seems to imply that Debbie isn’t just targeting the necklace for the steep price tag, but revenge as well. Could Debbie’s mark have something to do with the death of her brother?
It will also be interesting to see the role Anne Hathaway’s character plays in all this. Her character, Daphne Kluger, is the one seen wearing the necklace Debbie intends to steal. However, official photos have shown her working alongside of Debbie’s team. Is Daphne a plant to get into the Met, or is she a saboteur?
We’ll have to wait and get our answers when Ocean’s 8 hits theaters on June 8!
