Disney+ and Marvel Studio’s highly anticipated The Falcon and The Winter Soldier has got itself a new cast member.

According to Deadline, actor Carl Lumbly has officially joined the cast of the highly anticipated Marvel television series, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

Word of Lumbly’s involvement with the project comes just a few weeks after Walt Disney Studios revealed during an investor’s call meeting that Marvel fans can expect the highly anticipated series to premiere exclusively via Disney+ sometime in August 2020.

Lumbly joins previously announced series stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, both of whom are on board to reprise their Avengers roles as Sam Wilson (Falcon) and Bucky Barnes (Winter Soldier).

Other familiar faces who’ve joined the cast of the series include Emily VanCamp, who is back in action as Sharon Carter, and Daniel Bruhl, who will once again portray Captain America: Civil War baddie, Zemo.

Meanwhile, Marvel fans itching to know who Lumbly will play on the show and how he’ll fit into the fold of the series will have to sit tight.

As with most details surrounding the slew of Marvel original series coming down the pipeline over at the Disney owned streaming service, details surrounding who Lumbly will be playing are being kept shrouded in secrecy for now.

As for Carl Lumbly’s previous credits, the actor is no stranger to the world of superheroes. In fact, fans of The CW’s Supergirl might recognize him or his portrayal of Martian Manhunter. And speaking of Martian Manhunter, Lumbly also lent his voice to the character on the Justice League animated series.
