Last year we were all abuzz over The Selection, a futuristic Hunger Games-esque drama series optioned by The CW. Although it didn’t make the fall line-up, it looks like a revamped version might be back in contention!

The Selection is a book series by Kiera Cass, billed as a cross between The Bachelor and The Hunger Games. It is set 300 years in the future, and follows a young girl who is chosen as one of 35 competitors for the prince’s hand in marriage.

Although sadly it didn’t make the cut for the 2012 fall season, it was later announced that the CW would be revisiting the pilot in early 2013.

Now, TV Line has learned that the CW has ordered the revamped pilot, and that the executive producers Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain will stay on. At the Television Critics Association press tour, CW president Mark Pedowitz commented on the new script, calling it “very well done.”

Back when the pilot was first announced, the lead actors included Friday Night Lights star Aimee Teegarden and Narnia‘s William Moseley. There are no news about whether the same actors will be involved with the project this time around, but we’ll keep you updated as we learn more.

Are you excited for this new fall drama? Let’s hope that second time is the charm for The Selection!
