Legends of the Hidden Temple is gearing up to make a comeback— this time over at The CW who’s, planning to put a new twist on the beloved 90s competition series.

90s kids who loved tuning into Nickelodeon’s hit competition series, Legends of the Hidden Temple, will definitely want to keep tabs on The CW’s newest greenlit series.

According to Variety, The CW announced on Tuesday (May 11) that it has ordered a Legends of the Hidden Temple revival.

Unlike the 90s Nickelodeon series, The CW plans for its revival to be geared toward adults who may have grown up watching the original iteration of the show, which ran from 1993 to 1995.

The CW’s version will find adults competing in a series of obstacles in lieu of teams of kids.

The plan currently is to set the competition in a mysterious jungle instead of on a soundstage, where it will feature some much tougher obstacles. Five teams will kick off each competition, but only one will survive for long enough to enter Olmec’s Temple to retrieve the lost treasure.

The CW might be planning to give Legends of the Hidden Temple a bit of a facelift, but it seems as though the network is very much looking to keep the nostalgia for the show going by incorporating elements millennials will undoubtedly remember from the 90s show.

A few mainstays you can expect to see as part of the revival include original team names like Red Jaguars, Silver Snakes, Green Monkeys, and more. In addition, the adultified competition series plans to bring back Olmec, the giant talking head, as well as a few challenges such as The Steps of Knowledge, and the Temple Run.

Currently, there’s no word on when we might expect to see the Legends of the Hidden Temple revival debut via The CW.
