Chris Colfer’s first picture book, The Curvy Tree, based off of his Land of Stories series, has received its cover.

The Curvy Tree is a story based on one of the tales told in Colfer’s Land of Stories series. It’s a childhood favorite of the two main characters, twins Alex and Connor Bailey. Now, the story is coming to life for the rest of us in the form of a picture book.

The official description reads, “Once upon a time, there was a little girl who didn’t quite fit in. When she runs away, she happens upon a curvy tree who helps her understand the importance of being different.”

On Friday, the official artwork for the cover was revealed on EW. See it below:

The book’s cover features the same golden frame we’ve come to associate with the other Land of Stories books, but the artwork is in a completely different style. Featuring a softer, lighter palette, The Curvy Tree already feels unique to the main novels in the series.

The book will be illustrated by Brandon Dorman, who has worked on a few other big-name series, such as Fablehaven and Goosebumps, among hundreds of other projects.

The Curvy Tree will be released on October 27. Released on the same date in a box set will be Queen Red Riding Hood’s Guide to Royalty and The Mother Goose Diaries, both of which are companion novels to the series.

On July 7, 2015, the fourth book in the Land of Stories series will hit shelves. It is still without its title and cover.

In 2016, we can expect Colfer’s second picture book, which will be following the character of Trollbella. We can possibly also expect the fifth and final Land of Stories novel to hit shelves in 2016 as well.

Will you be picking up ‘The Curvy Tree’ when it’s released later this year?
