The newest trailer for the royal biopic’s highly anticipated forthcoming season finds Queen Elizabeth (Olivia Colman) sizing up the country’s brand new prime minister, Margaret Thatcher (Gillian Anderson)— who also happens to be the first woman to assume the role.

The tension between the two women is palpable from the get go, offering up just a taste of what we can expect when the series returns.

As with previous teasers for The Crown season 4, the newest trailer continues the pattern of teasing the highly anticipated introduction of Lady Diana Spencer (Emma Corrin).

The first teaser trailer for The Crown season 4 is here, and it teases tons of drama to come!

Fans of Netflix’s The Crown don’t have much longer to go before season 4 finally hits Netflix. But if you just can’t wait to get a taste of what’s to come, then you’re in luck.

On Tuesday (October 13), Netflix officially unveiled a brand new teaser for the series highly anticipated return, teasing what could perhaps be the most dramatic season of the biographical series to date.

Season 4 brings with it the much anticipated introduction to the future Princess Diana (played in the series by Emma Corrin)— a figure that’s heavily featured over the course of the new footage, which puts an extra emphasis on the romance between the young Lady Spencer and Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor).

As those familiar with the history know all too well, despite the couple’s picture perfect fairytale wedding, the royal romance between Prince Charles and Princess Diana was not without its dark sides.

The newest series of the royal drama is set just as the 1970s are coming to a close, and features Olivia Colman portraying Queen Elizabeth II. Meanwhile, Tobias Menzies stars as Prince Philip while Helena Bonham Carter plays Princess Margaret.

Other notable stars also set to appear in the series fourth season include Gillian Anderson as Margaret Thatcher, Erin Doherty as Princess Anne, and Marion Bailey as The Queen Mother.

The Crown season 4 debuts via Netflix on November 15.
