The Crown, Netflix’s hit drama about Queen Elizabeth II just released a new teaser for the show’s third season starring Olivia Coleman.

Season 3 of The Crown will feature the show’s first casting change as the show moves into a new era of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign. Claire Foy played the Queen to perfection as the show followed her life from 1947 to 1964. As Coleman steps into the role, the show will pick up in 1964 and move into the ’70s.

Netflix released a new trailer for The Crown, and gave us a bit more of a taste of Olivia Coleman’s performance as Queen Elizabeth. And in this teaser, we see her examining her updated royal portrait.

Getting older can be tough, but it’s got to be even harder when you have to get older in front of the entire world. In the teaser, we see Coleman as the Queen both explaining the casting change to the audience while also showing us a glimpse of the more human side to the Queen as she processes getting older and what she’s gone through so far.

As her staff discusses the new portrait, calling her a “settled sovereign” after the Queen refers to herself as an “old bat,” they try to insist that there were only the “tiniest changes” in her. However, the Queen insists there has been “a great many changes” since she took her first Royal profile, and she’s right.

In seasons 1 and 2 of The Crown, we see her get married, lose her father, ascend to the throne, have her children, fight for her marriage in the face of her husband’s infidelities, and help guide her country through many challenging and hard times. We can’t wait to see what other “great many changes” are coming to the Queen’s life in season 3 as we get closer to the modern era in The Crown.

Happily, we don’t have to wait much longer. Season 3 of The Crown premieres on November 17, and seasons 1 and 2 are streaming now.
