The Crown season 3 is here, and to help you really deep dive into the royal drama, Netflix has released a companion podcast.

The Crown has captivated audiences by giving us all a unique look into the everyday lives of Queen Elizabeth II and the royal family. However, the first three seasons of the show have focused on stories that happened before many of us were born or were too small to remember. So to help those of us who want to really go deep into episodes of the show, Netflix has released a companion podcast.

As Deadline reports, the podcast, appropriately named, The Crown: The Official Podcast, is an officially licensed companion program that will follow the show episode by episode. The podcast is hosted by British presenter Edith Bowman and will feature people like the show’s creator Peter Morgan.

Each episode of The Crown: The Official Podcast will give listeners a chance to learn more about the events that were featured in the episode of the Netflix series. But this show won’t just be a podcast for history buffs as we’ll also get some behind-the-scenes stories from each episode as well.

The first episode of the podcast features Morgan, and you get to hear him talk about some of the more challenging bits of creating a show like this. He discusses how bad his nerves get right before a season is launched, and that the scrutiny each season receives is “nerve-wracking.”

But he also talks a bit about the challenges of the show’s shtick: replacing the main actors every couple of seasons as the characters age. Season three marks the first time we see a cast change with the beloved original cast members Claire Foy, Matt Smith, Vanessa Kirby, and more replaced by Olivia Coleman, Tobias Menzies, and Helena Bonham-Carter, respectively.

With a dash of history and a peek behind-the-scenes of one of the most captivating historical dramas on Netflix, The Crown: The Official Podcast is one any fan of the show simply can’t miss. You can check it out for yourself wherever you get your podcast. The first episode is streaming now.
