Jack Huston is the latest actor be be cast as the lead in The Crow, replacing Luke Evans. Jessica Brown Findlay has also signed up to star.

The Crow remake has had more cast replacements than Grey’s Anatomy, and it hasn’t even started filming yet.

Bradley Cooper, Luke Evans and Tom Hiddleston have all been signed on to star in the movie at some point, and have all dropped out. And last year, Corin Hardy replaced F. Javier Gutiérrez as director.

But now, Dread Central has confirmed that Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire) has replaced Evans as Eric Draven, and Downton Abbey‘s Jessica Brown Findlay has been cast as Eric’s fiancé Shelly. It looks like they can finally get ready to start production now!

The Crow is technically a remake of the 1994 horror flick of the same name, but according to creator James O’Barr, the new version will much more closely resemble the original graphic novel.

O’Barr’s 1989 classic tells the story of Eric and Shelly, who are beaten and left for dead on the side of the road. While Shelly dies, Eric is resurrected by a crow, and now exists in a state of eternal emotional torment, stalking and killing the people who murdered him and his fiancée.

The crow becomes Eric’s constant companion, urging him to move on from Shelly and accept his new purpose as a dark avenger (if you’re thinking “zombie Batman” right now, you probably wouldn’t be completely off).

The Crow is expected to begin filming this spring.
