The Bold Type showrunner Sarah Watson already has some ideas for what she’d like to explore in season 2. Now all we need is for Freeform to officially renew our new favorite series!

There’s no denying The Bold Type is one of the most talked about shows of the summer. Even so, fans have been left waiting with baited breath with regards to whether or not Freeform will pick up the heartfelt magazine drama for a season 2.

In a bittersweet move, Tuesday night’s season finale offered a sense of closure while still leaving things open-ended for some of our favorite characters.

The good news is that showrunner Sarah Watson recently revealed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that she’s already mulling over a few ideas with regards to where she’d like to take the show from here.

For starters, one thing Watson would love to explore is what the series will look like now that Jane has officially resigned from Scarlet.

“I love change and I love throwing big changes at characters. I think it leaves a lot of room for the show to move and grow and to explore, did she make the right decision? Does she want to be back at Scarlet or do we now exist in several different worlds?” Watson told THR.

Fans of Scarlet’s incredibly strong and supportive Editor in Chief will also be happy to know that Watson would love to learn more about Jacqueline in potential future seasons.

“Another thing I really want to do in season two, and it’s actually very intentional that we didn’t do it in season 1, is delve a little more into Jacqueline’s personal life and her life at home and also her life with the board,” Watson teased. “What happens when she has to go upstairs and she’s no longer the big boss and has a boss?”

It sounds like Watson and her team are already cooking up some great storylines, so here’s hoping Freeform hears our pleas and renews The Bold Type for season 2 sooner rather than later!
