Sheldon confronts his friends about their continued lack of commitment on The Big Bang Theory season 8 finale.
The episode, titled “The Commitment Determination,” will pick up the thread of wedding-related hesitation expressed throughout season 8 by both Leonard and Penny. Though the couple seem very devoted to each other, they are oddly reticent to move their marriage plans past engagement – and it seems like Sheldon has had enough of it.
The preview for The Big Bang Theory season 8 finale suggests that Leonard and Penny might leap past just setting a date, and head straight for elopement! But we can’t help but remain slightly skeptical of these commitment-phobes. After all, it’s a season finale – something is bound to go wrong.
A few things went wrong on last week’s episode of The Big Bang Theory, when Sheldon and Leonard’s mothers met for the first time. Predictably (and hilariously) the two strong-willed ladies clashed over their views on life, religion, reality, and – of course – parenting. But realizing how successfully Sheldon had been raised, Leonard’s mom decided to treat him a little more nicely, so that was a win.
Over with the rest of the crew, Bernadette started getting really sick of Howard, Stuart, and Raj making a mess of her house – a plot line which seems to continue on tonight’s episode.
The still photos for “The Commitment Determination” hints at further issues with Stuart, while Raj deals with Emily issues… and Sheldon and Amy kiss again!!!
(Seriously, that never gets old.)
According to the official synopsis for The Big Bang Theory season 8 finale, it is Sheldon and Amy’s relationship which inspires Leonard and Penny’s next steps.
“After Sheldon fights with Amy, he questions why Leonard and Penny haven’t made wedding plans,” CBS says. “Also, Howard and Bernadette ask Stuart to move out, and Emily’s fascination with the dark and spooky has Raj questioning their relationship.”
The Big Bang Theory season 8 finale, “The Commitment Determination,” airs tonight at 8:00 p.m. on CBS.
