Leonard found high school closure while Howard risked his life over a toy on The Big Bang Theory season 8, episode 22.

A little short

Leonard and Penny are scheduled to go to New Jersey, where Leonard will deliver the commencement address at his old high school. Unfortunately, their flight is canceled due to a storm. Penny arranges for Leonard to give the speech over Skype, and gets him a sexy graduation costume.

To be fair, he kind of rocks it. Still, he decides to put on pants.

Buzzwords

Raj enlists Howard to set up an extremely expensive helicopter-drone camera for him. Unfortunately, even with Sheldon’s help — and Howard’s engineering degree — the helicopter turns out to be monstrously difficult to get working. Howard decides to take it apart, voiding the warranty.

Meanwhile, Raj’s dad is frustrated at paying for his toys and decides to cut him off financially. Raj plans to return the helicopter, and is aghast when he sees that Howard has gutted the toy. Raj calls his mother and says that his father cut him off due to Mr. Koothrapali’s “active social life.” Raj’s mom promises to give him even more money.

Raj is relieved, but Howard insists on solving whatever is wrong with the helicopter. Bernadette arrives with more tools, and the guys make fun of her for ever calling tech support.

(She probably calls tech support so she doesn’t have to deal with you, Howard.)

Finally, Howard puts the helicopter back together and the guys count down activation. Alas, the helicopter is literally a bust. Howard gives in and calls tech support

Raj’s father calls him back, furious that Mrs. Koothrapali thinks he’s sleeping around. Raj sucks up to his dad, and gets even more cash out of the deal.

Listen to the waiting music. Howard is depressed at his failure, but the helicopter mysteriously begins to fly, buzzing madly around the apartment. Of course, they can’t figure out how to turn it off, and Sheldon begs tech support to call the police on the robot uprising.

The cool kids

Leonard Skypes into the graduation, but realizes that his speech is trite and boring. He decides to get honest, and admits that he really hated high school. Leonard addresses the rest of the speech to the “invisible kids,” the friendless and the teased.

All their time spent alone, focused on their hobbies, Leonard promises, just makes them interesting and cool.

“And for those of you who were popular in high school — it’s over,” he adds. “Sorry.”

After the speech, Leonard and Penny are nearly decapitated by the rogue helicopter as it buzzes out into the hallway.
