The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 7 “The Proton Displacement” brings the laughs with Bob Newhart guest starring as Professor Proton.

Raj is planning on joining girl’s night and Howard pokes fun at him making jewelry with the girls. Professor Proton reaches out to Leonard to read a paper on nano tubes. Sheldon is jealous that Arthur asked Leonard. Amy tries to reason with Sheldon, which ends up as an argument with Sheldon insisting he is annoying.

Raj helps the girls make jewelry. Penny seems to have skipped preschool and isn’t capable of using the glue. Howard shows up to only make a few snide comments to Raj and then take over jewelry making by offering the girls his soldering gun.

Sheldon, unable to let the paper thing go, heads to Arthur’s house to address the issue. Arthur tries to placate Sheldon but he just can’t accept that Arthur has chosen Leonard. Sheldon is a self fulfilling prophecy of annoyance as he demands Arthur agree that he is annoying.

Leonard and Arthur are at the lab working when Sheldon shows up with Bill Nye the Science Guy. There is no love lost between Bill and Arthur, who feels that Bill made a name for himself based on Arthur’s show.

At the apartment it is jewelry night once again and Howard tries to steal Raj’s thunder. Raj has been making jewelry for his mom and seems put out that Howard is crashing girls night. Raj yells at Howard.

Arthur asks Leonard why he puts up with Sheldon. Leonard says that Sheldon needs him and in some ways he needs Sheldon. Later, Arthur shows up at the apartment to offer Sheldon his paper to read. Sheldon admits that he hacked Arthur’s email in order read it. The two bond over their mutual dislike for Bill Nye, who has slapped Sheldon with a restraining order.

Raj, in an attempt to make up for yelling at Howard, makes them matching light saber belt buckles. Needless to say they are highly inappropriate looking! Meanwhile, Sheldon reminisces with Leonard, Arthur, and Penny about his favorite Professor Proton episodes.
