A new promo has arrived for The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 6, previewing the rise and fall of Sheldon Cooper.

The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 6 will air this Thursday on CBS, and it looks like mountains might be made out of molehills in Pasadena this week.

The episode, titled “The Romance Resonance,” will focus on the fallout of a major scientific discovery made by Sheldon. The new preview from the episode gives us some background on exactly what goes right – and what goes cringingly wrong.

Could Sheldon and his brain really have failed? How exactly does one mistakenly discover a brand new element? (Unless this is Iron Man 2, but let’s not talk about that.) How will the geeky gang react to Sheldon’s stumbling ego?

Meanwhile, it looks like Penny will have her own problems to deal with in The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 6. (We suspect that Penny’s plot line connects more directly than Sheldon’s to the episode title.) The official episode summary for “The Romance Resonance” says:

Sheldon’s major scientific breakthrough makes him feel like a fraud. Meanwhile, Howard’s romantic gesture to Bernadette causes Penny to step up her game with Leonard.

It will be good to see Howard treating Bernadette well this week, as let’s face it, his behavior in last week’s episode was fairly abominable. We also can’t wait to see what Penny has up her sleeve – is it possible that the perennial commitment-phobe is getting ready to make a big step?

The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 6, “The Romance Resonance” will air on Thursday, Oct. 24 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
