Leonard and Penny are engaged, but it looks like more changes are on the way when The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 24 airs on Thursday. The season finale, titled “The Status Quo Combustion,” will focus on how the geeky gang – and most specifically, Sheldon – adjust to the news of their friends’ long-delayed decision to put a ring on it.

The preview for The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 24 shows that Sheldon may not be taking the happy news quite so happily.

In Sheldon’s defense, things haven’t been easy for him of late. He has recently had to cope with his breakup with string theory and the death of Professor Proton, so the new change of Penny and Leonard’s engagement, and the prospect of switching apartments, will be understandably difficult for the change-averse Dr. Cooper.

But he’ll probably still be a jerkface about it.

The stills released from “The Status Quo Combustion” hint at celebratory moments, as well as a few conversations that appear rather serious.

It looks like the whole gang will be grappling with new challenges and opportunities in “The Status Quo Combustion.” The official synopsis for the episode hints at Howard and Bernadette’s continued tribulations with Mrs. Wolowitz, and unexpected advancements for Raj and Emily.

Sheldon is forced to confront an uncertain future and considers a major move. Meanwhile, Raj and Emily take it to the next level, and Mrs. Wolowitz’s injury is a major headache for Howard and Bernadette.

Between engagements, parents, new relationships – oh, and Amy will be there too – it looks like nothing will be quite the same after The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 24.

The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 24, “The Status Quo Combustion,” will air on Thursday, May 15 at 8:00 p.m. on CBS.
