Howard will take his friendship with Sheldon to a whole new level when The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 17 airs tonight on CBS. The episode, titled “The Friendship Turbulence,” focuses on the aftermath of a nasty spat between Howard and Sheldon, which inspires the engineer to strengthen his bond with the PhD.

As the official summary for “The Friendship Turbulence” implies, Howard may need more than a little help mending those fences.

After the insults fly, Bernadette tries to broker the peace between Wolowitz and Sheldon. Meanwhile, Penny is offered an embarrassing movie role and Raj asks Amy to write to a woman on his behalf.

Jeopardized relationships was also a theme on last week’s episode of The Big Bang Theory. After Leonard bought a dining room table, Sheldon nearly broke up with Amy in an attempt to maintain some measure of control over his life. Thankfully that crisis was averted by Amy’s quick manipulation thinking, but the table proved the casualty of that evening’s crisis. At the same time, Howard was tempted to return to outer space, but eventually came back to his senses.

The preview for The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 17 takes Howard back into the air – at cruising altitude – while focusing on Sheldon and Howard’s adventures traveling to Houston.

A recent sneak peek released from tonight’s episode sets up a brewing tension between Leonard and Penny. Still photos from “The Friendship Turbulence” also shed light on Amy and Raj’s strange tête-à-tête tonight.
