The preview and still photos for The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 16 hint that a new arrival may herald big changes.

The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 16 will bring the geeky comedy back to the television table after its most recent hiatus, and a new promo and stills indicate that the geeky gang will not be standing still in the new episode. The episode, titled “The Table Polarization,” will focus on Sheldon’s characteristically bizarre response to a decorating decision made by Leonard.

The official synopsis for The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 16 says that a new addition to the apartment “nearly causes Sheldon to break up with Amy.”

Leonard buys a dining room table and it causes Sheldon to reevaluate the changes in his life. Meanwhile, Wolowitz is offered a chance to go back to space and Bernadette struggles with whether or not to encourage him.

Given the most recent – and very touching – events in Sheldon and Amy’s relationship, it would be pretty devastating to see Sheldon decide to back away at this point. Still, it makes sense that his unexpected moment of physical affection with Amy would give Sheldon cold feet.

The new preview for “The Table Polarization” seems to be treating the situation humorously, so for the time being we will keep our “Save Shamy” flags in strategic reserve.

You take that survey, Amy.

The promotional stills from The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 16 give us a good look at the change-inducing table and Sheldon and Amy’s resulting conversation. The images also offer a peek at Bernadette and Howard’s potentially emotional plot line in “The Table Polarization.”
