The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 16 airs tonight! Check out the preview and everything else you need to know about “The Table Polarization.”

A seemingly mundane purchase may inspire serious changes when The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 16 airs tonight. The episode, titled “The Table Polarization,” will focus on Sheldon’s unusual (though very Sheldon-ish) response to Leonard’s purchase of – gasp! – a new table for the apartment.

The official synopsis for The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 16 says:

Leonard buys a dining room table and it causes Sheldon to reevaluate the changes in his life. Meanwhile, Wolowitz is offered a chance to go back to space and Bernadette struggles with whether or not to encourage him.

Though it’s been two weeks since The Big Bang Theory last entertained us, it looks like “The Table Polarization” will continue the story threads from “The Locomotive Manipulation.” The Valentine’s Day themed episode proved momentous when Sheldon and Amy had their first real kiss – like Mommies and Daddies do.

The preview for The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 16 makes it clear that Sheldon is still effected by the accidentally romantic moment… though not in the way Amy (or we) probably hoped.

Let’s hope that Amy can handle Sheldon’s cold feet!

It looks like Sheldon and Amy won’t be the only couple facing a big decision in “The Table Polarization.” (We aren’t talking about Leonard and the table.) Though we thought we’d heard the last of Howard’s adventures in outer space, it seems like the little guy may be headed back to the black – unless Bernadette raises an objection.

The still photos from The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 16 show some of the process of Bernadette’s decision, which looks about as fun for her as that part of Gravity where Sandra Bullock starts breathing carbon dioxide.

Casey Sander will return in the role of Mr. Rostenkowski, perhaps to help Bernadette decide whether to let Howard fly off into the ether again. Astronaut Michael Massimino will also guest star as himself, and we have to assume he has something space-y to do in “The Table Polarization” as well.

The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 16, “The Table Polarization,” airs tonight at 8:00 p.m. on CBS.
