As The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 14 begins, Penny walks in on the guys attempting to buy tickets for San Diego Comic-Con. They frantically refresh, but are unsuccessful.
Though the rest of the guys decide to buy scalped tickets, Sheldon decides he doesn’t need Comic-Con! He will start his own convention called Sheldon-Con. He starts calling celebrities, but is turned down by most. He then claims to be booking James Earl Jones, the voice of Darth Vader in Star Wars. Sheldon has tracked him down to his favorite restaurant through Twitter. Leonard begs him not to stalk Jones, but he goes anyway.
Sheldon appears at James Earl Jones’ table. Jones appears angry at first, but then cries, “I like Star Wars too!” and invites Sheldon to join him. They geek out together over Darth Vader and share a banana split. After a carnival and karaoke, Jones takes Sheldon to Carrie Fisher’s house and pranks her by ringing her doorbell. Fisher comes out with a baseball bat and hollers, “It’s not funny, James!”
But Sheldon realizes that he may be in over his head when, relaxing in a steam room after a strip club, Jones invites Sheldon to Comic-Con – and Tijuana – with him.
Penny, Amy, and Bernadette decide to act like grown-ups in contrast to their immature boys. They go to afternoon tea – Amy wearing her tiara – but the whole crowd is little girls. They go to the bar and discuss that they don’t feel mature, but decide that adulthood (and not laughing at elderly people injuring themselves) may be over-rated.
Meanwhile at Leonard’s apartment, the guys wait for the scalper to come sell them their tickets. Afraid of being charged with petty theft and being banned from Comic-Con, they nearly back out, but regain their courage and decide to be badasses… until they consider the potential consequences. The scalper arrives, and Leoanrd, Howard, and Raj quiver in the darkness, praying for the man to leave.
The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 15, “The Locomotive Manipulation,” will air next Thursday at 8:00 p.m. on CBS.
