The preview for The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 12 has been released, and shows fans a bit more of Sheldon than they may have wanted to see.

CBS’s number one geeky comedy will ring in the new year with The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 12. The episode, titled “The Hesitation Ramification,” will air on Jan. 2, and a new promo lays out the ups and downs that will greet the gang in the new episode.

Also, Sheldon totally drops his pants.

It looks like The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 12 will focus partly on Sheldon’s developing understanding of the concept of humor. While it’s good that Sheldon is – for lack of a better word – maturing in this way, we hope he never outgrows the classic “Bazinga!”

We also hope he never pulls down his pants again.

“The Hesitation Ramification” will also make a few waves in Leonard and Penny’s remarkably solid relationship, as an exciting development in her acting career fails to go as planned. The official synopsis for The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 12 says:

When Penny’s big acting break on NCIS is a bust, Leonard struggles to help her, which results in Penny asking Leonard a bold relationship question. Meanwhile, Sheldon tries to learn how to be funny and Raj tries to work on his “game” before talking to girl.

We can’t help but wonder what this “bold question” might be. The specter of marriage has come up this season when Penny realized that she had accidentally been married to a previous boyfriend, but it doesn’t seem likely that a proposal would arrive at this point in the season. Whatever the question is, it definitely looks like Leonard doesn’t deliver the answer (or the timing) that Penny was looking for.

The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 12, “The Hesitation Ramification,” will air on Thursday, Jan. 2 at 8:00 p.m. on CBS.

What question do you think Penny will ask Leonard on ‘The Big Bang Theory’?
