The geeky gang is getting literally downsized in a new official LEGO set based on The Big Bang Theory.

The set will include all seven main cast members of The Big Bang Theory, as well as a detailed model of Sheldon and Leonard’s living room. The set also includes several props and Easter eggs to make the mini geeks as true-to-life as possible.

It’s clear how much attention to detail and care was paid to The Big Bang Theory LEGO set in the new official images of the special-edition toys. The living room set includes Sheldon’s whiteboards, the telescope, and even the takeout containers which are so ubiquitous in the geeky gang’s weekly dinners.

LEGO has also released images of the mini-figures of Sheldon, Leonard, Penny, Raj, and Howard. From the clothing choices to the accessories, the figures are impressively accurate. Sheldon looks perfect in his Flash tee-shirt, while Howard (of course) holds a rocket ship, and Raj protectively clutches his dog Cinnamon.

LEGO’s official description for the set urges fans to “Indulge your inner genius and build this LEGO version of Leonard and Sheldon’s living room as seen in the hit American sitcom The Big Bang Theory! This set was created by two LEGO fan designers – Alatariel from Sweden and Glen Bricker from the USA – and selected by LEGO Ideas members. Featuring loads of authentic details to satisfy all The Big Bang Theory devotees and including minifigures of all seven main characters from the show, it’s ideal for display or role-play fun.”

The Big Bang Theory LEGO set includes 479 individual pieces, and will be available for purchase on Aug. 1. The set will retail for $59.99.

The Big Bang Theory recently wrapped up its eighth season, leaving fans on something of a cliffhanger – particularly where romance was concerned. The season finale saw Leonard and Penny fighting on their way to elope in Las Vegas, while Raj got in over his head with Emily. And most shocking of all, Amy told Sheldon that she needed a break from their four-year relationship, to which Sheldon agreed… after which he pulled out an engagement ring.

There’s no way to know what awaits after the summer hiatus, but hopefully The Big Bang Theory LEGO set will keep fans entertained until the show returns in the fall.
