Sheldon and Amy go down a new relationship road while the rest of the gang celebrates Thanksgiving when The Big Bang Theory 9×09 airs tonight.
The episode, titled “The Platonic Permutation,” will also add a new wrinkle to Leonard and Penny’s relationship.
“Sheldon and Amy try hanging out as friends when they spend Thanksgiving together at the aquarium,” CBS teases. “Also, Wolowitz reluctantly agrees to volunteer at the soup kitchen with Bernadette, Raj and Emily, and Penny discovers that Leonard knows more about her than she thought.”
Relationships were also at the center of last week’s episode of The Big Bang Theory, when Amy went on a miserable date with British Dave. Spied on by Bernadette and Penny, Amy had to deal with the fact that Dave was only interested in learning about Sheldon, and she had to break off the relationship. Meanwhile, Sheldon tried to attract a mate by acting like a pretentious asshole, and it almost worked.

In the last clip, Bernadette, Raj, and Emily try to put the “giving” in Thanksgiving, but Howard isn’t impressed.
The stills from The Big Bang Theory 9×09 aren’t clear on how well all of these plotlines will play out, but at least somebody looks amused.
