The Big Bang Theory isn’t on tonight, but don’t stress — the geeky gang will be back on Thursday.

The CBS comedy is shifting back to its regular slot on Thursdays this week, thanks to the end of CBS’s contract with Thursday night football.

But though the day might be changing, The Big Bang Theory will continue airing at its 8:00 p.m. slot It’s a pretty good deal for everyone — who likes Mondays, anyway?

The preview for this week’s episode, titled “The Spock Resonance,” gives fans plenty of reasons to tune in this Thursday.

In addition to all of the potentially grisly secrets, The Big Bang Theory 9×07 will bring Sheldon face-to-face with the son of one of his idols. Adam Nimoy, son of Leonard Nimoy, will appear in “The Spock Resonance” to interview Sheldon for a documentary on his father.

“While being interviewed for a documentary about Spock from Star Trek, Sheldon struggles to suppress his emotions about his recent break-up with Amy,” CBS explains. “Also, Wolowitz and Bernadette butt heads over remodeling his childhood home.”

In addition to Nimoy, Wil Wheaton will also guest-star as himself. Casey Sander will return as Bernadette’s dad, and Stephen Merchant (Hello, Ladies) appears as Dave — the fellow Amy admitted to dating on last week’s episode.

Suffice to say, it looks like Thursdays will be getting quite dramatic when The Big Bang Theory returns to its rightful place.

The Big Bang Theory 9×07, “The Spock Resonance,” airs Thursday, Nov. 5 at 8:00 p.m. on CBS.
