Raj learns some upsetting news, while Leonard nearly misses an opportunity on The Big Bang Theory season 8, episode 22.

The episode, titled “The Graduation Transmission,” will also focus on Howard’s attempts to make a mechanical airplane fly. It looks absolutely riveting.

Nothing much happened on last week’s episode of The Big Bang Theory, when Raj recruited Leonard to help him out with an alien communication project for work. He rejected Sheldon and Howard’s suggestions because apparently they have “Alpha” personalities, but eventually went back to them for help and Sheldon just took over the whole project. Meanwhile, Penny went to an audition and decided that she doesn’t want to be an actress after all.

Also, aliens may have invaded Earth? It was hard to tell.

The sneak peeks from “The Graduation Transmission” seem a little bit more grounded, at least. Raj introduces the confounding flying camera to Howard, while Leonard and Penny prepare for their trip to his first commencement address.

True story: Some high schools disallow cap-tossing for just that reason.

In the second clip from tonight’s episode, Leonard and Penny depart for their trip to the exotic realm of New Jersey.

And the third sneak peek from The Big Bang Theory season 8, episode 22 demonstrates that Raj’s flying toy might be a very worthy opponent for Howard and Sheldon’s mechanical prowess.

The still photos from “The Graduation Transmission” display the frustration and despair of the geeky gang throughout their various travails. Oh, and Leonard… loses his dignity somewhat.

The Big Bang Theory season 8, episode 22, “The Graduation Transmission,” airs tonight at 8:00 p.m. on CBS.
