The Originals returned to our televisions Tuesday night with an impressive episode full of incredibly quote-worthy lines. Here are some of our favorites!

Rebekah: “There, there, little lambs, all the bad men have gone away.”

As if there weren’t already enough reasons to love Rebekah, we find out that she has always been a passionate defender of women. Her rescue of the Casket Girls was surely a defining moment for in her lifetime.

Cami: “I want to remember everything.”

Many, many victims of Klaus’ compulsion have echoed this sentiment throughout the centuries, but hearing Cami voice it made us even more attached to her character than we already were. The physical and mental anguish she had to endure to retain the memories that Klaus took from her didn’t break her spirit and we couldn’t be more proud.

Davina: “I promise as soon as the world stops hunting me, I’ll find the daylight ring spell.”

Poor Josh. Not only does he have to worry about being hunted down by Klaus, but he also can’t go out in daylight, and he wants to help his new friend Davina to escape her captivity. After we finished giggling at this quote, we couldn’t help but “aww…” for Josh and his predicament.

Klaus: “You don’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to know the obvious.”

Oh, Klaus. If our interest wasn’t piqued by the Sherlock Holmes reference, we would probably just be really mad at you.

Josh: “Hey Cami, you don’t happen to have any blood in the fridge, do you?”

Josh had some pretty great one-liners in an otherwise pretty serious episode. When he looks adorably at Cami, who has just finished a painful round of compulsion-breaking with Davina, and asks if she has any blood in the fridge, we couldn’t help but laugh. Yes, Josh. The girl that has been compelled over and over again to forget about vampires also keeps a couple pints of O negative in the fridge for those blood cravings.

Hayley: “I know Klaus told you to follow me, but does it really mean you have to follow me to the bathroom?”

We’re not sure why Klaus has a security detail following her around his own compound anyway, but having them stick close enough to her to follow into the bathroom is definitely a step too far.

Josh: “Cami, hey, it’s me again, stalking you.”

So the writers must have been trying to make up for Josh’s lack of screen time by giving him all the one-liners in this episode because he was on fire. This second quote (of many) occurred when he was trying to locate his girls after the sun had finally set in the Quarter and Cami wasn’t answering her phone. Just adorable, what more can we say?

Josh: “Nope, no witches here, totally digging Turkey though.”

Okay, so when Josh told Klaus that he had departed New Orleans for Turkey, we bust out laughing uncontrollably. Good one, Josh. He totally believed you.

Josh: “You’re kinda rocking that girl-on-a-mission look that makes me nervous. “

Seriously, Josh was in rare form this week, and we loved every minute of it. In his defense, that look on her face is quite unnerving.

Rebekah: “Come on now, love. Don’t tell me you were falling for that. Isn’t it time for us girls to have a chat?”

Rebekah has fallen for that same sob story time and time again, so it makes total sense that she would want to spare Davina from the same fate. Plus, it was really great fun seeing Rebekah standing up for the girl that everyone just wants to use for their own purposes. Rebekah may be the only one that wants to do what’s right for Davina.

Sophie: “You said he buried her between two young oak saplings. Newsflash, that was 200 years ago. They’re all just trees now.”

Sophie doesn’t get too many one-liners, so this one took us by surprise, but oh what a surprise it was. Hayley thought she had given Sophie the exact location of Celeste’s grave, but, well, it took a little more witchy-know-how to really find it.

Josh: “Don’t worry, they’re not really dead. Just, like, really hungry and, I’m not helping.”

Josh’s adorable attempt to make Tim feel comfortable when entering The Garden was incredibly sweet, especially when he realized that explaining what was really going on for those vampires was more terrifying than whatever Tim was probably thinking.

Cami: “Yeah, or I got mystically cold-cocked by four witches.”

In one fell swoop Cami managed to blindside her uncle that she not only knows about vampires, but remembers everything that Klaus has compelled her to forget, and she makes a no-nonsense summation of the magical slap to the face she just recieved. Nailed it.

Klaus: “Don’t worry Elijah, I remain as redeemable as ever.”

The topic of Klaus’ redemption has remained highly debatable for a while now, so Klaus’ mocking Elijah by claiming his own ability to be redeemable is very on-the-nose.

Marcel: “You know what the worst part is? You’re so predictable, I had to make an alliance with your brother. Who I don’t even like.”

You may not like Elijah, Marcel, but you should. He’s the brother you should be interested in working with to protect New Orleans instead of Klaus. While Elijah may not have had the purest motives regarding Davina, at least he never considered killing her. Hopefully after this confrontation Marcel and Elijah can patch up their differences and find some common ground.
