The Asset, which sounds like the perfect film for those craving a good, old fashioned action flick, has found its three lead actors.

Michael Keaton and Samuel L. Jackson are no stranger to action movies, and Maggie Q — who played Nikita for three years — is certainly no slouch.

So, it’s exciting to see that the three actors will be joining together in the action-adventure thriller The Asset, which will bring together not only the three stars, but plenty of crew members behind the scenes who have a long history making action movies.

The Asset will be written by by Richard Wenk, who gave us Denzel Washington kicking ass in the Equalizer movies and all the actions stars ever to exist kicking ass in The Expendables movies.

He’ll be joined by director Martin Campbell, likewise well-versed in making successful and entertaining action-thriller films, and responsible for The Foreigner, with Jackie Chan, and Casino Royale, one of the better James Bond films in recent memory.

The Asset follows the character of Rembrandt, played by Michael Keaton, and Anna, played by Maggie Q, two of the world’s premier assassins who share a mysterious past from Vietnam. For years, they traversed the globe competing for high-profile contracts. But when Anna’s mentor Moody, played by Samuel L. Jackson, is murdered, she and Rembrandt must form an uneasy alliance and return to Vietnam to track down his killer.

The movie comes to us from The Expendables outfit Millennium Media, with Arthur Sarkissian of the Rush Hour franchise producing, along with Moshe Diamant’s The Hurricane Heist (a ridiculous and ridiculously fun movie that is exactly what it sounds like and is currently streaming on Netflix) and Rob Van Norden, who is responsible for Rambo: Last Blood.

Production for The Asset is due to begin January 8, 2020, and filming will take place in London, Bucharest, and DaNang, Vietnam. No word yet on a release date.
