FX’s The Americans showcases the tension between Philip (Matthew Rhys) and Elizabeth (Keri Russell) in its next episode “Only You” in new stills, a synopsis, and a promo video.
According to the synopsis, the tension between Elizabeth and Philip will come to a head. It looks like Elizabeth, Gregory, or Philip will be put in danger this week due to Stan’s (Noah Emmerich) spy work. “Stan pursues a lead that puts him on the trail to one of Gregory’s crew members, closing the gap between him and Elizabeth, and reigniting some of the deepest conflicts between her and Philip.”
The preview clip indicates that Philip will be the one in danger as Gregory also runs from the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Do you think someone might get hurt in The Americans‘ “Only You” episode?
In past episodes, The Americans has focused on previous romantic entanglements and their lasting effect on the Jennings’ ability to form a real relationship. Philip rekindled the pre-American romance with Irina (Marine Squerciati) when he was in New York while Elizabeth resisted Gregory’s (Derek Luke) advances. Elizabeth resisted attempts by Philip to try to improve their relationship after learning about Irina. These pictures featuring Gregory and Elizabeth together will not seem to help matters.
The Americans airs on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EST on FX.
