Early box office reports are coming in and surprisingly The Amazing Spider-Man looks to be coming after the opening box office record in foreign markets.

Deadline is reporting that a source has told them The Amazing Spider-Man has crushed the Asian box office, with its early release this weekend in many international markets. Although the US release isn’t until July 3, the movie had its pre-release tracking at a solid $125 million, which isn’t too shabby either.

In Korea, the film debuted at $13 million, which might not seem large to us, but it’s actually more than The Avengers brought to its studio in the same market when it was on its record-breaking rampage. The Spider-Man flick also did well in India, reportedly taking in $5+ million more than The Avengers, resulting in the largest opening weekend ever for an American film.

The Phillippines, Hong Kong, and Singapore are all reporting huge openings for their markets as well, which is definitely a great sign that director Marc Webb’s reboot will be a worldwide hit.

Although, we have seen this before with Battleship, which did quite well in its early release overseas, but sunk during its US release. We do have a feeling The Amazing Spider-Man will still do incredibly well in other markets, due to its hot young stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone at center stage.

We should have more details once the official numbers come out later tonight.

UPDATE: According to Gitesh PandyaThe Amazing Spider-Man has taken in $50.2 million in only 13 international territories. Leading the way was Korea with $13.4M, Japan with $11.4M, and $6M in India. Making it the biggest movie opening ever in India. Looks like the Spider-Man franchise still has what it takes to pull in an international audience.
