The Office star B.J. Novak has joined the ranks of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 cast, director Marc Webb unveiled on Twitter today.

Webb tweeted out the following message using an Office reference and included a photo of Novak seemingly in a professional setting. As noted in his remarks, they are just over a month into filming:

At this time we do not know what role Novak will play, and if the role is large or minor. We’ll be sure to update you when we hear more! The film’s official synopsis says that life is busy for Peter Parker. “Between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen, high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro, emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn, returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.”

The sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man already features an all-star cast: Emma Stone as Gwen, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, Jamie Fox as Electro, Paul Giamatti as The Rhino, Sally Field as Aunt May, Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben, Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn, and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn. Felicity Jones is also on board for an unspecified role.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens in theaters May 2, 2014.
