The Amazing Race season 26, episode 12, “Monster Truck Heroes,” just finished airing! Read our recap to find out who won the grand prize!
The teams all meet at the airport and head to Dallas, Texas. All the teams are pretty excited and confident in themselves. In a weird twist, Mike and Rochelle end up in the lead and Mike takes on the Road Block.
Road Block
The teams must dress in a football uniform then catch a touchdown pass and kick a field goal for the next clue. But first they get hoisted up all the way to the stop of the stadium for their play books. Mike is the first to try to catch a touchdown but misses. Tyler is the first one to catch a pass and kick a field goal.
After a couple of tries Blair finishes the pass and kick, but gets annoyed when Tyler and Laura decide to follow them. Mike is next to finish, followed quickly by Jelani. Because none of the cabs have left yet, all the teams are now caught up with one another. But Mike and Rochelle couldn’t get their cab to stay so they have to find a new one.
Cowboy Up
The teams must participate in a cattle drive at the P2 Ranch for the next clue. Blair and Hayley get their first but have a hard time with the horses. Laura and Tyler arrive at the ranch along with Jenny and Jelani. Meanwhile, Mike and Rochelle end up in a taxi that has to stop for gas.
Hayley and Blair complete the cattle drive and get the clue to go to Reunion Tower. After falling off her horse, Jenny and Jelani finish. Laura gets very freaked out by her horse but manages to stay on and get all the cattle penned.
Mike and Rochelle finally get to the ranch only to find out that they’ve been eliminated from The Amazing Race.
Road Block
At Reunion Tower the teams must go to the top of the tower and spot their next clue as they repel down. Hayley takes it on for her team but as she’s going down she has a hard time seeing the clue. They leave just as Laura and Tyler arrive. Jenny and Jelani show up and no one wants Blair and Hayley to win so they decide to work together to spot the clue.
Hayley and Blair go to the stop that Hayley thought was the clue and realize she made a big mistake (after yelling at Blair). So they decide to go back and try again.
Laura and Tyler head to the clue and find monster trucks, while Jenny and Jelani go in the wrong direction.
Monster Truck Memory
The teams must test their skills driving monster trucks while testing their memories from the race. After riding the monster trucks they must unlock the shed using the numbers from leg locations to get to their selfies and place them on the world map.
Laura and Tyler have fun driving the monster truck but have a hard time figuring out the code. Meanwhile, Jenny and Jelani catch up with them and get the code done quickly.
While Jenny and Jelani just start putting pictures all over the place, Laura and Tyler finally unlock their shed. They put their images in order first before putting them up. Both teams end up having their first guess be incorrect. But after re-reading the clue, Laura and Tyler realize they only misplaced one picture.
They jump back in their monster truck to grab their next clue out of the ball pit. Hayley and Blair arrive just as Laura and Tyler are leaving, and Jenny and Jelani finish quickly after.
Pit Stop
The teams must make their way to the Continental Avenue Bridge for the Pit Stop. Laura and Tyler come in first place and win The Amazing Race season 26 along with the million dollar grand prize.
