The Amazing Race season 26, episode 9, “Can I Get a Hot Tub,” just finished airing! Read our recap to find out which team got eliminated.
Road Block
After a night of camping, Laura and Tyler leave first in the morning and find out that they are heading back to Europe for Amsterdam. All the teams go on the same flight and arrive in Amsterdam and go straight to the Road Block. There the teams must find the match to a klompen, a traditional wooden shoe, among hundreds of others.
Jenny is the first to finish the Road Block and gives her team the lead. Next they must ride a bike along the river to the Munttoren. Tyler finishes the Road Block second, Blair third, Rochelle fourth. Matt really started panicking at this point, and even had the right shoe in his hand but put it back!
After over thirty attempts, Matt checks the example again before finally finding the right shoe.
Detour
While on their bike ride, Jenny and Jelani enjoy the views. They jump on a ferry with their bikes but get anxious when they see Laura and Tyler catching up. The teams go separate ways, which allows Laura and Tyler to take the lead and get to the Detour first.
Soak will have the teams drive an electric powered hot tub along the river looking for clues to solve a puzzle. Shuffle has the teams playing Sjoelen, a Dutch version of shuffleboard where they must score 51 points for the next clue.
Laura and Tyler chose Soak and enjoy the hot tub until they realize that the clues aren’t so easy. Luckily, Tyler is able to decipher them to Ice Skating Rink. Meanwhile, Hayley and Blair get lost and start fighting. Rochelle and Mike got the the Shuffle challenge and quickly got good at scoring.
Jenny and Jelani go down the river but get confused by the clues and have to go through it again. Hayley and Blair get the clue right. Matt and Ashley finally get the Detour and start playing Sjoelen and quickly finish their game.
Pit Stop
The teams must go to Museumplein Ice Skating Rink for the Pit Stop. Laura and Tyler make it to the Pit Stop first and win a trip to South Korea.
2nd place: Hayley and Blair
3rd place: Jenny and Jelani
4th place: Mike and Rochelle
Matt and Ashley just couldn’t catch up, but luckily for them, this is a non elimination leg.
