The Amazing Race season 26, episode 2, “I Got the Smartest Dude,” just finished airing! Read our recap to find out which team got eliminated.
In Tokyo, The Amazing Race teams try to find hotels for the night – which basically end up being cubicles with couches to sleep on. In the morning the teams must take the bullet train to Nagano and find their next clue. The first departure time is 6:30 a.m. so even though Jenny and Jelani get there first, they know others will catch up.
Jeff and Jackie, Laura and Tyler, and Jenny and Jelani are the first teams to arrive in Nagano. C.J. and Lebya are the last depart and have a selfie fail when taking a picture causes them to miss their train!
Road Block
“Think Outside The Box” has the teams trying to open up puzzle boxes for the next clue. One box will also be the key to a “Date Night” reward.
Jeff, Jelani, and Tyler decide to take on the puzzle boxes for their teams, but they quickly find out how challenging it is. The girls, meanwhile, have fun watching on. Tyler is the first one to finish the puzzle and gets the clue which tells them to go to Nishi-Guchi Zenko-Ji.
Jelani finishes next as Aly and Steven arrive. Aly finishes just before Jeff. Mike and Rochelle, Jonathan and Harley, and Bergen and Kurt arrive at the Road Block around the same time.
Mike and Rochelle finish for fifth place, Jonathan and Harley take sixth place (also winning the date night), Bergen and Kurt get seventh place, Matt and Ashley get eighth place, Hayley and Blair get ninth place, and C.J. and Lebya leave the Road Block last.
Detour
Laura and Tyler arrive at the detour and must choose between “Share” or “Chair.” They pick share and so do Jenny and Jelani who are right behind them.
At the share detour the teams must feed each other all the noodles in their bowls with chopsticks. Even though it’s awkward, Laura and Tyler manage to have fun with it. Meanwhile, Jenny and Jelani get down and dirty slurping their noodles. Although Laura and Tyler finish first, they have to find a cab. Allowing Jenny and Jelani to capture the lead.
Aly and Steven take on the chair detour where they must push each other around the speed skating track in under three minutes. The Olympians finish on their first try, but when Jeff and Jackie arrive they have a lot more trouble.
Jonathan and Harley enjoy the noodles while Bergen and Kurt argue over eating them. Mike and Rochelle have even more problems over at the ice rink when they take a crash and decide to switch detours. Matt and Ashley take a few tries but finish the chair Detour.
Hayley and Blair attempt the chair at the ice rink and have a hard time with their weight difference. While C.J. and Lebya go right to the noodles and could have the chance to catch up.
Pit Stop
Teams must head to Patio Daimon for the second pit stop on The Amazing Race season 26.
For the second time in a row Jenny and Jelani win first place, and both win a Fitbit wellness kit.
