The race kicks off tonight with an all new set of teams on The Amazing Race season 25, episode 1, “Go Big Or Go Home.”

The Amazing Race starts its milestone 25th season tonight at 8 p.m. ET on CBS. Not only will this season feature an all new cast, it will also introduce a new twist.

The race will introduce a new element called “The Save.” The team that finishes first in the premiere will have the ability to save themselves if they face elimination later in the race.

The Amazing Race will also be visiting new locations including St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; Valletta, Malta; and the Shetland Islands, Scotland.

The synopsis for ‘The Amazing Race’ season 25, episode 1, ‘Go Big Or Go Home’ is:

“Teams begin their adventure from Times Square in New York City, where host Phil Keoghan introduces a new game-changing element, “The Save.” The team that finishes first in the premiere episode will be awarded “The Save,” which they can use to rescue themselves if they come in last on a leg and face elimination. Also, Racers take a gut-wrenching leap of faith during the series’ first-ever trip to the U.S. Virgin Islands, on the season premiere of THE AMAZING RACE, on its new day and time, Friday, Sept. 26 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Phil Keoghan (@philkeoghan) is the host.”
