The Amazing Race season 25, episode 8, “Hot, Sexy Knights,” just finished airing! Read our recap to find out which team got eliminated.
Route Marker
The teams must make their way to the Island of Malta. In the Route Marker, the teams must carry a tray of drinks up the Staircase of St. Ursula to the Knights of Malta to get the next clue.
All the teams jump on a ferry where the cyclists break off from the rest of the group, which gains suspicion. But the girls just need a time out from the other teams.
Once they land in Malta, everyone grabs a taxi. The surfers get to the Bridge Bar first and learn how to carry the drinks. The dentists and scientists drop their drinks before they even leave the bar.
The surfers get to the knights but Bethany drops her drinks before she can set them down. The cyclists are the first to successfully deliver the drinks to the knights with the wrestlers right behind them. The dentists finish third, the surfers fourth, Tim and Te Jay fifth, and the scientist sixth.
Road Block
The teams must go to the boathouse at Zurrieq Valley Sea Inlet for the next clue. There they each pick up a time for the next morning designated on a chain. In the morning they find out they must rappel 200ft down into the Blue Grotto then swim to find the next clue while their teammate waits in the boat.
The first group is Misti, Ali, and Timothy. Misti and Ali finish quickly while Timothy struggles to figure out how to rappel. Ali grabs the clue first and Timothy catches up with Misti, who can’t swim as fast.
The second group is Bethany, Robbie, and Amy. The two athletes fly through the rappelling but Amy struggles.
Detour
The teams have to race to Church of St. Scholastica for the detour. There they must blindly decide between flag or shine. In flag they must play the Maltese festival game of “Gostra,” where they have to grab a flag at the end of a greasy pole. In shine the must wear a suit of armor while polishing the armor of their teammate.
The cyclists chose to play flag but it isn’t as easy as they had hoped. Both the dentists and Timothy and Te Jay show up before realizing they missed the clue for the detour and have to go back. Timothy and Te Jay find their speed bump where they have to paint the Maltese cross on two shields.
The cyclists then decide to change detours where the dentists and wrestlers already are. The surfers chose flag but then decide to use their express pass and skip the detour all together.
Timothy and Te Jay finish their speed bump and head back to the flag detour. The scientists also go there as well but Amy decides her leg can’t take it and they switch.
The dentists complete the shine detour and head to the pit stop. The wrestlers switch detours as Tim and Te Jay continue to try to get their last flag. After a couple of tries, the wrestlers go back to the shining.
The cyclists finish at the shine detour, followed by the scientists. Timothy and Te Jay switch detours and find that the wrestlers are still there. But the wrestlers soon finish and head out.
Pit Stop
Fort Manoel is the pit stop for the eighth leg of the race and the surfers (Adam and Bethany) come in first place. Their prize is $10,000 each!
The remaining teams arrive in the following place:
Second place: Dentists (Misti and Jim)
Third Place: Cyclists (Kym and Ali)
Fourth Place: Scientists (Amy and Maya)
Fifth Place: Wrestlers (Robbie and Brooke)
For the second leg in a row, Timothy and Te Jay come in last place. This time they are eliminated from the race.
