The Amazing Race season 25, episode 7, “Pretty Fly For A Food Scientist,” aired last night. Read our recap to find out which team got eliminated.
The teams must fly to Palermo, Sicily. Misti and Jim depart first and opt to head to a travel agency to book tickets. The flight they book won’t arrive until 8 p.m. the following night. The Cyclist book the same flight, while the rest of the teams won’t arrive until 8:40 p.m.
Once in Sicily, the dentists and cyclists share a cab ride. When the rest of the teams arrive they jump in individual cabs and race each other. At the first stop they find that clues won’t be handed out until 6:30 a.m.
In the morning the first clue sends them to the Villa Costanza. The dentists and cyclists enlist the help of a local to call a taxi. As the rest of the teams struggle to find a ride.
Road Block
At the Road Block the teams must drive the historic Targa Vincenzo Florio race route in a go-kart before time runs out in order to receive the next clue. Jim and Kym volunteer for their teams and get racing. With just seconds to spare they finished the race.
The scientists arrive next and Maya races for them, but she runs out of time and has to go again. So Adam, Te Jay, Maya and Brooke race next. This time, they all finish and get the next clue.
Detour
At the Detour the teams must chose between “Painters” and “Posers.” In Painters the teams must help repaint part of the ceiling fresco at the Capella Saint Antonio. At “Posers” the teams must match opera characters with their costumes.
Both the dentists and cyclists chose “Painters” but quickly start complaining about the heat in the church. At their first judging, they’re told the painting isn’t done well enough.
The wrestlers head off to the “Posers” detour. The surfers decide to paint along with Tim and Te Jay, and the scientists. But only four teams are allowed to paint so the scientists have to go to the other detour.
With a second judging, Jim and Misti finish the detour first but the cyclists finish right after them.
At the “Posers” detour both the scientists and wrestlers get their first try wrong. So they decide to work together and get it correct on their second try.
Meanwhile, the surfers and Tim and Te Jay struggle to finish the painting to the judge’s standards. Adam and Bethany finish next with Tim and Te Jay behind them.
Pit Stop
Villa Niscemi is the pit stop for the seventh leg of the race. Misti and Jim arrive first and win a trip to Jamaica.

Second place: Kym and Alli
Third place: Amy and Maya
Fourth place: Brooke and Adam
Fifth place: Adam and Bethany
Tim and Te Jay come in last place but are relieved to learn it is a non-elimination leg.
