The Amazing Race season 25, episode 4, “Thinly Sliced Anchovies,” just finished airing! Read our recap to find out which team got eliminated.
The teams take a 13 hour ferry ride back to Aberdeen, Scotland where they will jump on a flight to Copenhagen, Denmark to find their next clue. Misti and Jim decided to take the chance while they waited for the ferry to book a flight. The one they pick is scheduled to land in Denmark at 4 p.m. The rest of the teams decide to wait before booking flights.
Kym and Ali are the first team to arrive at the airport in Aberdeen and book a flight scheduled to arrive in Denmark at 2 p.m. Tim and Te Jay, and Brook and Robbie book their flights right after but their flight isn’t scheduled to arrive until 5:15.
Maya and Amy, Bethany and Adam, Whitney and Keith, and Shelley and Nici go to the travel agency and all book flights to arrive around 5 p.m. But several of the flights get delayed.
Active Route Marker
Kym and Ali are the first team to arrive in Denmark where they must now drive to Sweden with only a tenth of a gallon of gas in order to receive the next clue. If they don’t succeed they must correctly answer a local geography student’s question. The girls succeed with flying colors!
Misti and Jim drive too fast and go over their gas limit, which means they must answer a geography question. They ask locals for help to an answer the questions for their next clue. Robbie and Brooke, Adam and Bethany, Maya and Amy, and Tim and Tee Jay also go over their gas limit. Whitney and Keith stay under their gas limit as well as Shelley and Nici.
Detour
At the Detour the teams must either preform “Parking Space,” where they must create a Parklet, an urban oasis in a parking space before the 30 minute parking limit expires or “Wedding Cake,” where they must decorate and deliver a wedding cake via Bullitt Bike.
Kym and Ali go the the Wedding Cake challenge where they carefully begin to decorate their cake. Delivering it on the Bullitt Bike is a whole other problem. They successfully deliver the cake but lost the receipt. Luckily they find it just outside of the building.
Misti and Jim decide to take on the Parking Space challenge with the garden setting. Maya and Amy also choose to make a Parklet but go with the living room. Neither team gets it on their first try.
Brooke and Robbie arrive at the Wedding Cake challenge at the same time as Adam and Bethany, and Whitney and Keith. But after their cakes go crashing down on the bikes, Adam and Bethany, and Whitney and Keith decide to switch detours.
Brooke and Robbie deliver their cake just as the other two teams that decided to switch arrived at the other detour. As Adam and Bethany, and Whitney and Keith begin their first try at the Parklet, Amy and Maya complete theirs and get the next clue. Keith and Whitney finish the Parklet next.
Tee Jay and Tim catch up with the rest of the teams still at the Parking Space challenge along with Maya and Nici.
Misti and Jim decide to change detours and go to the Wedding Cake detour. But they don’t have much more luck there when their cake is rejected. On their second try the cake is accepted.
Tee Jay and Tim finish the Parking Space detour at the same time as Adam and Bethany. Nici and Shelley finish theirs last.
Road Block
The clue sends Kym and Alli to Ida Davidsen restaurant for the next clue. At the restaurant they find the “Take a Number” Roadblock where one team member must take the order of two customers (four sandwiches) and memorize the ingredients to serve them.
Let’s just say that Kym is much better at riding a bike than memorizing an order. After a few tries she gets it right and is handed the next clue.
Maya and Robbie tackle the Road Block for their teams and struggle to remember the ingredients. Whitney shows up next and gets confused when Maya talks out loud to remember her order.
But her talking must work because Maya gets her order right. Despite thinking his head is empty, Robbie also gets his order right. Followed closely by Whitney.
Te Jay, who is a server back home, takes on the Road Block and gets it done quickly. Adam also tries the Road Block along with Misti. Nici arrives as the Adam and Misti get their first try wrong.
Adam gets it right on his second try but Misti panics and gets it wrong again. Nici gets it right on her first time. Misti finally realizes that what she was getting wrong the whole time was forgetting to say the sandwich number.
Pit Stop
The last clue is for the Pit Stop at the VM Houses. Kym and Alli finish in first place and also win a Ford Hybrid each.
The remaining teams comes in the following places:
2nd place: Brooke and Robbie
3rd place: Keith and Whitney
4th place: Amy and Maya
5th place: Tim and Te Jay
6th place: Nici and Shelley
7th place: Adam and Bethany
Last place: Misti and Jim
Misti and Jim go to use The Save, but Phil hands it back to them. This is a non elimination leg so they don’t have to use it and they get to stay in The Amazing Race.
