The Amazing Race season 24, episode 2, “Baby Bear’s Soup,” just finished airing! Read our recap to find out which all-star team got eliminated and discuss the events with other fans.

Here are the highlights from The Amazing Race season 24, episode 2, “Baby Bear’s Soup”:

The Cowboys (Cord and Jet) were the first to get the clue for the second leg of the race and head off to the Chen Clan Academy on foot. They’re quickly followed by Brendon and Rachel, and Margie and Luke. The rest of the teams follow and many head off on the metro while the Afghanimals (Leo and Jamal) team up with Team Kentucky (Mark and Mallory).

Brendon and Rachel are the first to arrive at Chen Clan Academy and get the next clue stamped on their foreheads. Dave and Connor arrive next, followed by Margie and Luke. The Cowboys decide to switch strategies and grab a cab to head to the academy. Meanwhile, the Afghanimals and Team Kentucky arrive at the academy together. The rest of the teams follow.

Dave and Connor arrive at the road block first and find they must assemble a motorized toy car! The trick is the instructions are all in Chinese! Margie and Luke keep second place, with the Afghanimals in third, Brendon and Rachel in fourth, and Team Kentucky in fifth. As more teams start to arrive they realize that only the Cowboys and the Country Singers (Caroline and Jennifer) are missing.

The teams find that the children at the road block are quite distracting making their task even more difficult. Meanwhile, the Cowboys finally showed up followed by the Country Singers, in last place.

Mark and Mallory are the first to finish the toy car and head off with their clue that tells them to go to the Guangzhou Children’s Cultural Center. But they’re in such a rush that Mark forgets his backpack! Margie and Luke finished second, Dave and Connor in third, the Afghanimals in fourth.

Worried about being in last place, Jennifer tried to schmooze Jet into giving them the extra express pass. The rest of the teams are not amused when the Cowboys give in and hand over the pass. This puts them in sixth and seventh place while the rest of the teams continue to work on the toy cars.

Mark and Mallory are the first to get the detour and learn they must go ten rounds of featherball or take part in a Chinese remedy, known as China cup (it looks kind of painful). Mark and Mallory argue about whether or not to head back for Mark’s backpack. Mallory thinks someone will grab it but Mark isn’t convinced. The two can’t seem to figure out how to communicate with one another.

Meanwhile, Margie and Luke grab the next clue and head off to play featherball followed by Dave and Connor. They quickly realize that the game isn’t all fun and quite difficult. Everyone follows quickly behind and chooses featherball. Meghan and Joey finish the toy car in ninth place but choose to help their friends, John and Jessica, before leaving for the Guangzhou Children’s Cultural Center.

Mark and Mallory finally arrive at the park to play featherball, but it doesn’t really matter because no one can seem to complete ten rounds of the game. After what seems like forever, Dave and Connor complete the game and get the next clue that leads them to the pit stop at Shamian Island. The Country Singers head off in second, Margie and Luke in third, the Cowboys in fourth, Brendon and Rachel in fifth.

The rest of the teams head off leaving Team Kentucky, Meghan and Joey, and John and Jessica struggling to play featherball. Mallory wonders if they should detour and try the China Cups, but Mark doesn’t agree.

Brendon and Rachel run neck-and-neck with Margie and Luke to the pit stop. But Brendon and Rachel make it there first and each win $2,500. Caroline and Jennifer arrive third, Dave and Connor are fourth, The Globetrotters are fifth, Jet and Cord are sixth, Leo and Jamal are seventh, John and Jessica are eighth, Joey and Meghan are ninth.

Mark and Mallory are the last to arrive at the pit stop and are eliminated. Mallory is very upset to be eliminated so early but Mark thinks he wasn’t meant to travel without his friend Bopper.
